When is it appropriate to use Saphir Saddle Soap?Updated 4 months ago
It’s generally not recommended to use Saphir Saddle Soap on high-quality leather products, especially delicate or fine leather, as it can be too harsh. Saddle soap is primarily designed for tougher leather goods, such as saddles, boots, and workwear, where deep cleaning is required. It contains strong cleaning agents and can strip away essential oils from more delicate leathers, leaving them dry and prone to cracking.
For a more gentle cleanse, we recommend Saphir Leather Cleaning Soap. We think t's only necessary if the shoes are extremely dirty with lots of dirt/mud and grime that have built up or dried on over time. If regularly maintained you can stick with Renovateur to clean and condition.
When it comes to stripping polish off your boots/shoes, we always recommend using Saphir Reno Leather Cleaner (or a heat gun/blow dryer). And remember, less is always more!
